The Trust is looking for NHS experienced doctors to join the thriving Emergency Medicine department in the East Midlands. They are looking for suitable candidates to join the Registrar rota as a Senior Clinical Fellow. The hospital is the busiest major trauma centre so you will get exposure to a variety of cases which will allow you to develop and improve your skills.
There are teaching programmes for all grades of staff and regular Grand Rounds where Consultants and Junior Staff present cases to hospital colleagues and General practitioners. The role consists of a combination of direct clinical care, clinical education and personal development activities designed to support our career progression alongside delivery of the department’s service objectives.
The Job
The successful doctor will be provided a clear rota plan which works to an average of around 40 hours per week, with 4 hours of non-clinical duties included within the 40-hour contact. Teaching sessions would be provided on a regular basis throughout the rota as well to supplement the learning. Other clinical duties will include:
Aim to provide the highest quality of patient care
Working cooperatively with other departments
Facilitating patient discharge
All hours will be sent on the shop floor whether that is in a clinical capacity or supporting the junior staff within the department.
Stay up to date with mandatory training
Involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Clinical Audit.
The Location
The East Midlands is one of the most suitable options for international doctors coming to the UK given its large international community. It is also surrounded by some of the largest cities within the UK, Birmingham is approximately 1 hour away from the Trust. Fantastic transport links to London and the North
Nearby to one of the largest cities in the UK.
Low-cost of living
Wealth of highly rated schools for people with families.
The Trust
This is an amazing opportunity to join one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the Europe as a few years ago the ED became the home to the Channel 4 programme “24 hours in A&E”. The department has recently had a £3 million investment to expand and improve the quality of their services. With over 180,000 admissions every year, in 2022 they say 1,500 trauma patients. There is also a separate Paediatrics ED which also went through a recent expansion. Due to it’s facilities and strong links to the local universities, the Trust is a major centre for education and research. This will give doctors ample opportunities for personal development activities. With the trust constantly striving to excel across all areas, you are guaranteed a high level of support for your future development.
