Introduction
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced doctor (ST3+ equivalent) with at least 12 months’ experience in Emergency Medicine to join a dynamic, high-volume Emergency Department. This role is suited to candidates who want to take on more responsibility, develop advanced clinical skills, and work within a supportive consultant-led environment. The position includes opportunities for secondments in acute specialties and advanced training in emergency ultrasound, alongside flexible self-rostering for improved work-life balance.
Main Duties:
Work within the Middle Grade rota (senior and junior tiers), running the department during late evenings and nights when required.
Lead trauma calls and cardiac arrests.
Manage a diverse caseload, including both adult and paediatric emergencies, in one of the busiest departments in the region.
Supervise and train ACCS, GPVTS, FY2, and Trust SHO doctors.
Participate in departmental audits and quality improvement projects.
Develop skills through secondments (e.g. ITU, Anaesthetics, Acute Medicine, Paediatrics) and gain Level 1 ultrasound accreditation with support from in-house Level 2 trainers.

Co-located Acute Medical and Assessment Units, emergency radiography, and 24/7 CT scanner access with consultant radiology support.
Full emergency laboratory facilities, including point-of-care testing.
Part of a major trauma network, handling high-acuity cases with significant trauma workload.

Requirements:
Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
Minimum 12 months’ experience in Emergency Medicine.
ALS certification (ATLS/APLS desirable).
MRCEM or FRCEM primary/intermediate SAQ desirable.
Previous NHS experience advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise junior staff.
